چکیده
We have read the recent interesting article titled “Monosegmental Hepatobiliary Fibropolycystic Disease Mimicking a Mass: Report of Three Cases” by Kwon et al. (1), published in Korean Journal of Radiology. In this article, the authors briefly discussed the management of the biliary cystic lesions of the liver particularly fibropolycystic liver disease such as Caroli’s Disease. As mentioned by the authors in the article, these cystic lesions are formed by remodeling the ductal plate and communicating with the biliary tree. The authors stated that different types of fibropolycystic liver disease demonstrate characteristic findings at computed tomography (CT) and magnetic resonance (MR) imaging. Ultrasonography (US), CT, magnetic resonance cholangiopancreatography (MRCP), percutaneous transhepatic cholangiography, and endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography can show the dilated

Rare biliary cystic tumors: a case series of biliary cystadenomas and cystadenocarcinoma.
Cystic lesions of the liver are common and a major proportion is formed by parasitic cysts and simple cysts. Biliary cystic tumors (BCTs), namely biliary cystadenoma (BCA) and biliary cystadenocarcinoma (BCAC), are rare tumors which usually arise from the intrahepatic biliary tree. BCAs have malignant potential and are difficult to differentiate from BCAC pre-operatively on radiological imaging...

Background: One of the most serious late complications, after evacuation of liver hydatid cyst and instillation of scolicidal agents is sclerosing cholangitis, most probably caused by the type of scolicidal agents instilled. Objective: To determine the incidence of sclerosing cholangitis after intra-biliary tract infusion of 5% saline and 0.5% silver nitrate. Methods: 5% hypertonic saline and ...
متن کاملPrimary Leiomyosarcoma of the Mesentery: A Case Report
AbstractMesenteric masses are infrequent lesions ranging from benign cysts to aggressive malignancies and often present a diagnostic and therapeutic challenge. The mesentery is a frequent recipient of metastases from the gastrointestinal tract, pancreas, and biliary cancers. Primary mesenteric tumors are relatively rare, mostly mesenchymal in origin and benign in nature. Examples include gastro...

Breast cancer is one of the leading causes of death among women. Mammography remains today the best technology to detect breast cancer, early and efficiently, to distinguish between benign and malignant diseases. Several techniques in image processing and analysis have been developed to address this problem. In this paper, we propose a new solution to the problem of computer aided detection and...

Liver cysts in children are uncommon abnormalities which can now be easily diagnosed by means of modern technical diagnostic imaging and treated in due course. Choledochal cysts are rare congenital cystic dilatations of the biliary tract, which can involve the intra- or extrahepatic bile ducts. The estimated incidence in North America is 1: 150,000 live births. This infrequent anomaly occurs mo...
